Sapura Drilling is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sapura Energy Berhad (SEB). SDA is currently the world’s largest tender-assisted drilling (TAD) rig owner and operator, with a total of 11 TADs fleet.

Sapura Drilling Business has more than 50 years of drilling experience, with footprints in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa as well as the Americas. We trace our roots to Robray Offshore Drilling Co. Ltd in Singapore, which was established in 1972 and went through a series of mergers and acquisitions over the years, involving offshore players Smedvig, Petrodrill, and Seadrill. Sapura Drilling was established after Sapura Energy (then known as Sapura Kencana Petroleum) acquired the majority of Seadrill’s tender rigs and expertise in 2013.
