What is OGSE Company Recognition?

OGSE recognition is granted by the Government of Malaysia through relevant government agencies such as MPRC, MIDA, MATRADE, SME Corp and DOSM, industry trade associations such as MOGSC, MOSVA and MOGEC, and PETRONAS for oil and gas services and equipment (OGSE) companies in Malaysia.

It is awarded to OGSE companies that are active in upstream or downstream activities and are not required to be licensed or registered with PETRONAS. Companies nevertheless still need PETRONAS license to operate in Malaysia.

OGSE recognition is awarded to companies that qualify via meeting the criterias.

Eligibility Criteria

OGSE Recognition

To be eligible to apply for the recognition of OGSE companies and the benefits, a company is required to meet the following criteria:

Registration or licensing status

Must be registered with Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM), and
Minimum paid up capital of RM10,000

Spend Status

Active oil and gas spend

Revenue requirement

Must show contribution from the oil and gas activities

Criticality requirement

Must be involved in oil and gas core activities

Being recognised by government agencies such as Economic Planning Unit (EPU), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), SME Corporation and Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM)

Being listed in the OGSE Catalogue where their capabilities will be promoted in international markets or events

PREFERRED POINT

Being the preferred point for international and national oil companies, government agencies, financial providers, and contractors

How to be Recognised

To register for OGSE companies, here are steps that you will need to go through

01 Registration

Click Apply OGSE Recognition to register your company and complete the online registration form

02 Assessment

Your registration will be reviewed to ensure applicants meet the criterias
A notification email will be sent to successful applicants
This step takes 7 working days

03 OGSE Catalogue

Once a company is recognised as OGSE Company, a separate email will be sent to your registered email for the OGSE Catalogue data gathering
This step takes 20 working days
