Sepangar Bay, Jalan Mawilla 2, 1KM, Off Jalan Sepangar, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, 88475
Kinabalu North Shipyard & Maritime Sdn Bhd (KNSM) was established in 2007 as a joint venture company between the state owned GLC Sabah Energy Corporation (30%) and Weldan Marketing (70%), a privately owned company based out of Sandakan, Sabah. Situated strategically in Sepangar Bay, the KNSM site covers a total area of 59 acres. Of those 59 acres, 27 acres have already been fully reclaimed and can provide just under 1 kilometre of direct sea front access. The naturally sheltered bay provides mostly calm waters which are ideal conditions to not only support the existing range of marine services activities but can also provide coverage for additional marine activities that have not been available in Kota Kinabalu previously. KNSM is proud to be the largest ship repair facility in terms of space and lifting capacity on the west coast of Sabah. Our yard comprises of an in-house team of skilled and expert personnel that are always ready to assist. We also pride ourselves in welcoming and developing contractor abilities in the greater Kota Kinabalu area and beyond.
With nearly 30 years of experience in the Ship Building / Ship Repair Industry (SBSR), we have serviced a wide variety of clients, each with their own unique needs. While ship repairs have been the main focus of our company, the size of land available at our KNSM site means that we have been able to visualise and develop a “one-stop” facility for marine related industries beyond anything currently available in the Kota Kinabalu area. This has enabled us to create a true marine services eco-system.
The KNSM marine eco-system includes:
• Ship Repair Services
• Ship Building
• Haul Out / In Services
• Vessel Hardstanding (short & long term)
• Berthing
• Workspace Rental
• Open Fabrication Area Rental
• Private Jetty
• Open and closed storage
• Loading / unloading bays Bollard Pull Tests (Coming soon)
• Fishing boat support services
