MCSB began its journey focusing on chartering and brokering activities by promoting its services to various cargo and ship owners within Malaysia as well in the Regional market. Over the years, MCSB evolved into an established chemicals transportation player through the formation of the Consortium of Shipowners (“Consortium”). Since 2013 to date, the Consortium has been serving Contract of Affreightment (COA) for Liquid Marine Bulk Chemicals (Methanol and MTBE) for Petronas Chemicals Marketing (Labuan) Ltd (PCML).

MCSB operates 5 fast crew boats (FCB), supporting production platforms, projects, and drilling campaigns for Oil and Gas operators in Malaysia with an additional 2-4 vessels chartered under the spot from third-party owners.

In 2019, MCSB developed its aggregator business in Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs) through the charter-in of other OSVs, such as Anchor Handling Tugs Supply (AHTS) vessels, DP-2 Accommodation and Construction Work Boat (AWB), flat top barges, and General Purpose Vessel (GPV).

Our OSVs operate in both East and West Malaysia, operating from offshore supply bases in Kemaman, Tok Bali, Miri, Bintulu, and Labuan. Our customers include PETRONAS, EXXON, SHELL, VESTIGO, REPSOL, DESB, and SAPURA OMV. MCSB’s OSVs are all registered and licensed under Petronas.

MCSB also involves in dry bulk chartering and broking services for ship owners and cargo owners in Malaysia and in the Asia region. Our ship chartering desk covers a myriad of shipments such as coal, fertilizer, rice, ball clay, and cement.

The Company is currently serving TNBF for their coal imports from Indonesia, Australia and South Africa to power plants in Malaysia. In addition to that, the company also provides tonnage support to Petronas for their urea shipments from Malaysia to the Asia region.
