The OGSE Strategic Partnership is one of the initiatives outlined in the National OGSE Blueprint 2021–2030 to increase competitiveness and resilience in the OGSE sector and address specific gaps in the market. This initiative is aimed at leveraging segment partnerships to create a competitive OGSE sector that thrives in the global market. The ultimate objective is to foster a robust and flourishing OGSE sector by supporting various segments and types of companies within the industry through strategic partnerships.
MPRC has established the OGSE Sector Partnership Support Programme designed to facilitate industry development through six enablers, as follows:
This platform aligns the OGSE sector development with national aspirations, market dynamics, and industry challenges & opportunities. By fostering dialogue among stakeholders, it ensures cohesive and strategic growth within the sector
To collect and disseminate industry data and information to stakeholders. The availability of comprehensive and accurate data is essential for informed decision-making and strategic planning
To provide appropriate incentives and benefits for industry consolidation, promoting efficiency and competitiveness within the sector, where feasible
To identify suitable participants to take part in the partnership programme. This would include companies who are actively looking for potential partnership opportunities with other OGSE companies
To increase the chances of creating suitable partners and ensure effective collaborations as suitable partners would potentially have common goals and aspirations
To enable cohesive outreach messaging that will raise awareness, educate stakeholders, and strengthen the visibility of OGSE sector
These enablers aim to streamline the strategic partnership process and enhance the overall synergy within the industry and collectively support the overarching goal of developing a competitive and sustainable OGSE sector in Malaysia.
Under the OGSE Sector Partnership Support Programme, the OGSE Strategic Partnership – Facilitation Service is a procedural and efficient method offered by MPRC to determine whether any given OGSE company is a suitable candidate for participating in a facilitated consolidation exercise. This will also ensure that qualifying companies are being evaluated based on their merits and sustainability. The diagram below illustrates the high-level approach in accommodating an aspiring company going through the motion of forming a strategic partnership. MPRC will be using its expertise and wealth of information available at its end, such as framework, researches and proprietary database, to aid the aspiring company along the way in this strategic partnership initiative.
Each candidate will be subjected to individual assessment based on the current profile, its own merit and business appetite. The candidate is expected to share its business requirements and aspiration. MPRC will evaluate them alongside its national framework and focused segments.
The candidate will be exposed to MPRC’s wealth of expertise, researches and framework throughout the course of this facilitation service assistance.
